Dr. David Clark

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many(a) serving officers and (b) other ranks serve on the board of NAAFI.

Mr. Hanley

The board of NAAFI includes three serving officers, one for each service who are appointed in a non-executive capacity to represent the interests of the services. There are no other ranks on the board.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what discussions he has had with James Rucker, the managing director of NAAFI, about his letter to Aims of Industry of 14 March 1991.

There are no grounds for doing so.
