Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales, pursuant to his answer of 20 October 1992,Official Report, columns 283–84, what progress he had made in allocating the £2.5 million under the urban programme; what allocations have been announced and on what the money has been spent; and what proposals he has for the expenditure of the residual amount.

Local authorities were informed in January of the successful projects receiving assistance from the urban programme in 1992–93 under the special allocation of £2.5 million to help promote the development of the areas affected by the colliery review. A further £700,000 has also been made available in 1993–94 to continue the developments started in 1992–93.
