asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether international effort is being devoted to re-convening a Peace Conference for the whole of the Sudan, following the Kongor Declaration of 26th March 1993, in which the Re-United Sudan People's Liberation Army offered a unilateral cease-fire; and if so how.

Talks are due to start on 26th April under Nigerian auspices in Abuja between delegations of the Government of Sudan and the Sudan People's Liberation Army. We welcome this. We are in touch with our EC partners, the US and others about developments.
