HC Deb 22 April 1993 vol 223 cc202-3W
Mr. Peter Robinson

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many persons wanted by the police in Northern Ireland in connection with(a) terrorist murders and (b) other terrorist offences are now reported to be in the Republic of Ireland; how many in other foreign countries; what requests for extradition have been made; and what proceedings have been started under the criminal law jurisdiction legislation.

Mr. Mates

It is not possible to give meaningful figures in relation to the first part of the question. We are currently seeking the extradition of three persons from the United States to Northern. Ireland and one person from the Republic of Ireland to Northern Ireland. There are two prosecutions proceeding under the Criminal Law (Jurisdiction) Act.
