To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland at which locations there are projects in which the Rural Development Council is involved; and at which locations the Rural Development Council is considering future projects.

Projects which have been approved by the Rural Development Council through its administration of the EC LEADER programme are located as follows:

  • Mid-Ulster Enterprises (Creggan Ltd.), Omagh, Co. Tyrone.
  • The Seeconnel Initiative, Castlewellan, Co. Down.
  • South West Fermanagh Development Organisation Ltd.

Further applications under the LEADER programme are being considered by the council, but no final decisions have yet been taken.

The Rural Development Council is also assisting 120 projects under the farm diversification action research programme which it operates in South Armagh and West Fermanagh on behalf of the International Fund for Ireland.
