To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the latest position over talks regarding Northern Ireland.

The Government trust that further political talks will commence as soon as practicable, and I am in contact with the other talks participants about that. A fair and widely acceptable political accommodation in relation to Northern Ireland would bring very substantial benefits to all the people of Northern Ireland, and more generally.
