To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the amounts spent by his Department on the Agriculture and Food Research Council for each year since 1978–79 to 1992–93 in(a) cash and (b) constant prices.

§ Mr. Gummer
[holding answer 21 April 1993]: Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food commissions with the Agriculture and Food Research Council, together with my Department's total expenditure on research and development, in both cash and constant prices, are set out in the table.
