HL Deb 20 April 1993 vol 544 c108WA
The Earl of Shrewsbury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have considered the proposed bypass of the market town of Uttoxeter in Staffordshire; whether they have refused the application and, if so, for what reasons.

The Earl of Caithness

Staffordshire County Council included a bid for the Uttoxeter Bypass scheme in their 1992 Transport Policies and Programme submission. We were unable to accept the bid because of the competing pressures on resources for local road improvements and the higher priority given by Staffordshire to other schemes in the county.
