HL Deb 20 April 1993 vol 544 c108WA
Lord Harris of Greenwich

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What form of consultation they will arrange on road pricing in London following the publication of the results of the current research programme; and whether they intend to publish a Green Paper.

The Minister of State, Department of Transport (The Earl of Caithness)

We publishedLondon Congestion Charging—A Review of Technology for Road Use Pricing in London on 31st March. This was an independent report commissioned by the Department of Transport from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Other reports on specific topics will also be published over time.

Comments have been invited on the Review of Technology and the intention is to seek a wide range of comments on future reports.

There is still a considerable amount of further research to be done. No decisions have been taken yet on whether a Green Paper will be issued.
