§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer 15 April 1993]: The Government make available substantial resources to local authorities to fund improvement grants and other investment in private housing. The non-HRA capital allocations for 1993–94 announced on 29 March total £120.5 million. These include £9.030 million which is earmarked to deal with the backlog of pre-1984 improvement and repairs grant applications in Edinburgh.
