To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the future role of the Sports Council for Northern Ireland.

The Sports Council for Northern Ireland is a statutory body which operates under the provisions of the Recreation and Youth Service (NI) Order 1986. Under the order, it has duties related to the promotion of sport and physical recreation in Northern Ireland. In addition,
