§ Mr. Douglas HoggWe remain seriously concerned about continued human rights abuses in Iran, including the persecution of Baha'is. We are active through the human rights machinery of the United Nations, as well as bilaterally and with our EC partners, in keeping up the pressure on Iran. We have recently made representations on behalf of the EC to the Iranian authorities in Geneva and Tehran reiterating our concern at new reports of persecution of Baha'is in Iran.
