To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the status of Nottinghamshire bids for RECHAR moneys from the EC currently blocked by his Department; and if he will make a statement.

The Department is not blocking bids for RECHAR moneys in Nottinghamshire. The East Midlands RECHAR programme committee has recently approved 16 projects which will attract grant worth approximately £2 million.
