§ Mr. George RobertsonTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he intends to proceed with ratification of the association agreements with(a) Poland, (b) Czechoslovakia and (c) Hungary.
§ Mr. Garel-JonesDraft Orders in Council designating the EC association agreements with Poland and Hungary as Community treaties under section 1 of the European Communities Act 1972 will be laid before Parliament shortly. United Kingdom ratification will be concluded once the designation procedure has been completed. This requires affirmative resolutions from both Houses of Parliament. No further steps will be taken at this stage on the Czechoslovakia agreement pending decisions on the future of the federation.
