HC Deb 30 November 1992 vol 215 cc35-6W
Ms. Estelle Morris

To ask the Secretary of State for Education how the A-level results for students registered with one school but taught at another school under a consortium arrangement are recorded for the purposes of the publication of the examination league table.

Mr. Forth

All examination results for individual pupils should be credited to the school at which the pupil is registered, regardless of where they were taught. Clear instructions were given to schools as to how the results of candidates on roll at one school but taking examinations at another could be claimed back by the school at which they were on roll. Some schools seem none the less to have encountered particular difficulties in doing this in this first year of the new arrangements. We shall be examining the position to see whether it can be made easier for schools in this position to claim back their candidates' results in future.
