§ Mr. Gwilym JonesThe allocation of waiting times initiative funds in Wales are based on application from district health authorities which specify the nature and amount of treatment to be purchased for their residents, and indicate the effect upon immediate hospital waiting times for those residents.
The exact way in which this is achieved is a matter for the authorities themselves. An evaluation of the expenditure is undertaken on behalf of the Department at the end of each year.
