§ Mr. CurryThe Department's environmental research and development programme includes a number of projects which examine the effects of different forms of more extensive management practices upon both vegetation and wildlife. In addition the monitoring of schemes such as set-a-side, extensification and, particularly, environmentally sensitive areas assesses the vegetation changes and the effects on wildlife populations.
