§ Mr. Peter LloydThe latest projections of the prison population, based on data available up to the end of 1991, were published in a Home Office statistical bulletin "Projections of long term trends in the Prison population to 2000", Issue 10/92, published 28 May 1992. These projections do not take into account any prison places saved as a result of extra resources to strenghen initiatives aimed at diverting offenders from custody which were agreed in the autumn statement 1992.
