HC Deb 19 November 1992 vol 214 c328W
Mr. McAllion

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department if he will list those agencies in the Lord Chancellor's Department which are being considered for privatisation or contractorisation.

Mr. John M. Taylor

I refer the hon. Member to the answer given on 17 November,Official Report, column 104, by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary, Office of Public Services and Science to my hon. Friend the Member for Cambridgeshire, South-East (Mr. Paice) who asked what plans my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster had to review the status of agencies set up as part of the Government's next steps programme; and whether a statement would be made. The procedures outlined in that answer will apply to the Public Record Office and the Land Registry, the agencies for which the Lord Chancellor is responsible. An announcement about the future status of each agency will be made at the appropriate time.
