§ Ms. WalleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to his answer of 20 October,Official Report, column 238, what proposals for encouraging the growth of the British and other European fleets he discussed with the Chamber of Shipping.
§ Mr. NorrisDiscussions of the non-financial issues have centred on the main areas where we consider there is scope for international action, particularly opening up new opportunities for United Kingdom and Community shipowners in third countries, increasing competitiveness including tackling state aids and consistently enforcing high standards for all shipping.
Other issues discussed are the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
