HC Deb 18 November 1992 vol 214 cc277-8W
Mr. Denham

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the authorisation of the employment of Bray's Detective Agency to investigate peaceful protesters at Twyford Down, Hampshire; when the agency was employed; what is the cost of the contract; and when is it due to end.

Mr. Kenneth Carlisle

The Department has employed Bray's Detective Agency (Southampton) Ltd. to serve papers on people who have trespassed on the Department's land and to photograph trespassers. The agency has been employed from time to time since March this year on an hourly basis at its standad rates, plus expenses. It will continue to be employed on this basis for as long as necessary.
