HC Deb 18 November 1992 vol 214 c211W
Mr. Chris Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what impact has been made on the environment figures in the tables annexed to the "Autumn Statement" from the transfer of energy efficiency responsibility from the former Department of Energy to his own Department.

Mr. Howard

[holding answer 17 November 1992]: The baseline provision for the programmes operated by the Energy Efficiency Office—EEO—was transferred to the Department of the Environment following the general election in April 1992. The revised provision for the EEO for the three years covered by the Chancellor of the Exchequer's autumn statement is as follows, to the nearest £ million:

£ million
1993–94 69
1994–95 71
1995–96 71

The expenditure is included within the Department's "other environmental services" block.
