§ Mr. ForthWe shall be allocating £660 million to support capital spending on school buildings in 1993–94. Local authorities will also benefit from the change my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced last week on the permitted use of capital receipts.
It will be for individual local education authorities to determine the level of their capital and recurrent spending on school buildings and their priorities.
