To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many compensatory awards over £30,000 were made by industrial tribunals in 1991.

None. The statutory limit on compensatory awards is £10,000.

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many companies liquidated in 1991 owed compensatory awards following hearings at industrial tribunals.

I regret that the information is not available.

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will consider bringing the compensatory element awarded by industrial tribunals within the insolvency provisions of the Employment Protection (Consolidation) Act 1978.
