HC Deb 13 November 1992 vol 213 c1004W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to his answer of 20 October,Official Report, column 248, what plans he has for the future of his Department's Defence Research Agency's facilities on the Isle of Rona after the island is sold.

Mr. Aitken

This is a matter delegated to the Defence Research Agency under its framework document. I have therefore asked the chief executive to reply direct to the hon. Member.

Letters from Mr. John Chisholm to Mr. Martin Redmond, dated 12 November 1992: In today's written answer the Minister of State for Defence Procurement informed you that I would be replying directly to your question concerning the future of Defence Research Agency facilities on the Isle of Rona. The DRA has recently purchased 140 acres at the northern tip of the island, where its main facilities are located. The sale of the remainder of the island will not affect our activities, which will continue as before. I hope you will find this information useful.
