§ Mr. MacleanNone. However, local authorities are required to be notified of the disconnection of a supply of water to any inhabited house if the supply is not restored within 24 hours. They have powers under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 to make such arrangements as they think fit for the supply to be restored in certain circumstances.
