HC Deb 11 November 1992 vol 213 c832W
Mrs. Helen Jackson

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many establishments in the Sheffield area have been(a) investigated and (b) prosecuted under the health and safety legislation relating to the provision of running water.

Mr. McLoughlin

During routine visits to premises for which they are the enforcing authority, Health and Safety Executive factory inspectors will inquire about the provision of running water if they have any reason to believe that the facilities may be inadequate. However, no comprehensive record of such inquiries is kept.

A search of records for the last five years has shown that there have been no prosecutions in the local authority district of Sheffield under health and safety legislation relating to the provision of running water.
