HC Deb 11 November 1992 vol 213 c800W
Mr. Llew Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what discussions have taken place in the Transport Council during the United Kingdom presidency of the European Council of Ministers, on the application of the cohesion fund to(a) the European transport infrastructure and (b) environmental projects as proposed by draft article 130d of the treaty of Rome under the treaty of European Union.

Mr. MacGregor

The Transport Council has not discussed the cohesion fund, but, following its Luxembourg meeting on Monday 26 October, the Council is able, subject, of course, to the views of Parliament, to agree in principle the extension of the current transport infrastructure funding programme for a maximum of two years.
