To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what amounts of regional financial assistance were given to industry in the parliamentary constituency of Greenock and Port Glasgow, by way of regional development grants, regional selection assistance and regional enterprise grants, in each financial year since 1989–90; and what is the sum to be paid in the year 1992–93.

[holding answer 4 November 1992]: The information requested is given in the table. Expenditure in the remainder of 1992–93 will depend on claims made by companies in respect of progress with projects which have been the subject of individual offers of grant.
