HC Deb 04 November 1992 vol 213 c284W
Mr. Paice

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received from the forestry or paper and pulp industry concerning the reinstatement of the tariff rebate which was withdrawn from the movement of goods by ship in July 1991; and if he will make a statement.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

[holding answer 2 November 1992]: Consideration is at present being given to a proposal for support, under the tariff rebate subsidy scheme, of a new project for the shipment of timber from remote and relatively inaccessible locations. An announcement will be made in due course once a decision has been reached.
