§ Mr. Robert JacksonIn 1990 the United Kingdom Government spent 0.51 per cent. of GDP on civil R and D. The corresponding figures for France and Germany were 0.85 per cent. and 0.9 per cent. respectively. The figures for USA and Japan were 0.44 per cent. and 0.43 per cent.
