§ Mr. StewartIn June 1979, there were an estimated 604,000 employees employed in manufacturing in Scotland. In June 1992, the latest date for which information is available, this figure was 368,000. Both of these figures are taken from the civilian work force in employment estimates complied by the Employment Department.
§ Mr. WorthingtonTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what(a) percentage and (b) numbers of 75W employees in manufacturing in Scotland were in (i) home-owned firms and (ii) overseas-owned firms in 1979; and what are the percentages at the present time.
