HC Deb 02 November 1992 vol 213 c29W
Mr. Corbyn

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what moneys have been transferred from hospital asset sales and cuts in spending to primary care over the last five years.

Mr. Sackville

Total spending on the non-cash-limited family health services has increased by £2.2 billion, or 11.8 per cent. in real terms, over the five years since 1987–88. Some primary/community care services are also provided by the hospital and community health services, whose spending has increased by £8.8 billion or 20.8 per cent. in real terms over the same period. Proceeds from capital sales are retained within the hospital and community health services, and are used for either hospital or community based services, according to decisions taken locally.
