HL Deb 02 November 1992 vol 539 c114WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will list the 10 most obvious examples of what they have described as an increasing tendency of the European Commission to intrude in to the nooks and crannies of national life.

Baroness Trumpington

We are discussing with our Community partners criteria to determine whether the Community should act and, if so, the extent of its action. The Lisbon European Council asked the Commission to review existing legislation in the light of the principle of subsidiarity. The Birmingham European Council decided to look at the first fruits of this review, with examples, at Edinburgh.
