HL Deb 18 June 1992 vol 538 cc18-9WA
Lord Harris of Greenwich

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When the pension arrangements for special constables killed on duty were last reviewed and what is the pension for such an officer compared with a constable of the regular police service.

Earl Ferrers

Pension arrangements for special constables injured or killed on duty were last reviewed in 1987. They are similar to those of their regular counterparts and both are governed by the Police Pension Regulations 1987. Additionally they also have an entitlement to a death gratuity under The Police (Injury Benefits) Regulations 1987.
