Earl FerrersThe average Home Office grant for each of the 4,419 places available in after-care hostels in 1990–91 was £1,600. This represents the funding the Home Office provides to the majority of after-care hostels as a "top-up" to the more substantial funding they receive from the Housing Corporation.
