To ask the President of the Board of Trade what discussions he has had with the Confederation of British Industry on matters relating to trade and industry activity.

Mr. Heseltine

I met representatives of the CBI and its National Manufacturing Council on 29 April and at the CBI annual dinner on 19 May. On both occasions we had a wide-ranging discussion on trade and industry matters.
