HL Deb 08 June 1992 vol 537 cc73-4WA
The Earl of Swinton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When they will publish the consultation paper on compulsory competitive tendering for housing management and the research on that subject carried out by consultants.

Lord Strathclyde

As part of the Citizen's Charter initiative, my right honourable friends the Secretaries of State for the Environment and Wales have today arranged for the following documents to be placed in the Library of the House:Competing for Quality in Housing, a consultation paper on compulsory competitive tendering for Housing Management; and The Scope for Competitive Tendering of Housing Management, a study carried out by consultants for the Department of the Environment and the Scottish and Welsh offices. Copies of these documents have been sent to all district housing authorities in England and Wales, and to a variety of housing organisations and other interested parties. The paper provides for a consultation period of over three months.
