asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will initiate consultations with the food industry on the future direction of food policy in the European Community.

The Government keep in close touch with all sectors of the industry on current issues, many of which have a Community dimension. I shall myself be meeting representatives of food manufacturers on 29th June.
