§ Sir John CopeExpenditure on press and public relations is as follows:
The expenditure for Her Majesty's Treasury, excluding the BT share offer, was £548,264 in 1988–89, £564,691 in 1989–90, £510,489 in 1990–91 and £578,358 in 1991–92. The estimate for 1992–93 is £624,432. Press and public relation expenditure for the BT share offer was £1,644,000 in 1991–92 and is estimated at £40,000 in 1992–93. The figures for the BT share offer include the cost of marketing advice. Comparable figures for earlier years are unavailable because of machinery of Government changes and could be given only at disproportionate cost.
