To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how much money was granted to farmers in Scotland in 1990–91 through the farm diversification scheme; and if he will give a breakdown of this expenditure between the various activities eligible for grants.

£114,055 was paid in grants under the farm diversification grant scheme in Scotland in 1990–91. A breakdown of these figures by the various eligible enterprises is as follows.
