Mr. McMaster

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what percentage of the total work force in his Departments are registered as disabled; what steps he is taking to encourage the employment of disabled people within his Departments; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Nelson

The percentage of the total work force in the Chancellor's departments who are registered as disabled is shown in the table. In many instances, departments also employ people with disabilities who have chosen not to register. Departments seek to implement the relevant parts of the civil service code of practice on the employment of disabled people.
