To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will make a statement on his policy with regard to creating an enterprise zone in Barrow-in-Furness.

Our policy remains that the creation of new enterprise zones will be considered only in exceptional circumstances. We are looking at the case for a zone in Barrow.
