HC Deb 13 July 1992 vol 211 c424W
Mrs. Clwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many meetings of the European Parliament Development Committee will be held, and when, during the course of the British presidency; and what are the key themes that Her Majesty's Government will be raising at these meetings.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The Development Committee of the European Parliament will meet five times during our presidency; 13 to 15 July, 21 to 23 September, 14 to 16 October, 4 to 6 November, and 1 to 3 December. The Minister for Overseas Development will address the committee at its July and December sessions, and will take the opportunity to discuss the main themes which will feature in the Development Council on 18 November: Community development policy to the year 2000, population, the follow-up to UNCED, the untying of aid, and the use of non-governmental organisations in Community aid.
