§ Mr. MacleanInformation on the recycling activities of individual local authorities is not held centrally at present. Work is in hand to establish better data, including a national review of waste statistics on which we are working with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, and the recycling plans which are now being prepared by every waste collection authority in the country as a result of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
