§ Mr. FatchettTo ask the Secretary of State for Education if he will set out the amount of the Further Education Funding Council transitional funds which will be required(a) to fund consultants' reports and (b) to meet the appropriate internal running costs of the FEFC.
§ Mr. FormanOf the £25 million that will be available to the Further Education Funding Council for transitional funding in 1992–93, the council's running costs, including the cost of consultancies, will account for approximately one third. Just over £1 million will be spent in 1992–93 on surveys by consultants of equipment, health and safety, and colleges' management and financial controls and systems. These surveys will be of direct benefit to colleges and will save considerable duplication of effort and expenditure on their part.
