§ Mr. Douglas HoggPreventing nuclear proliferation is among our foreign policy priorities. We shall continue to work to extend and reinforce the nuclear non-proliferation regime, in particular through further accessions to the non-proliferation treaty and an indefinite extension of the treaty at the 1995 extension conference; a strengthened International Atomic Energy Authority safeguards regime; and stricter supplier controls on nuclear material and technology.
