HL Deb 23 January 1992 vol 534 cc36-8WA
Lord Hunt

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Which prisons operate viral infectivity restrictions.

Earl Ferrers

The Director of Prison Medical Services is reviewing the system of viral infectivity restrictions (VIR) in consultation with all Prison Service establishments and organisations and bodies with a known interest. I expect the director to report her conclusions in the light of the consultation by early Spring. In the meantime, it is open to individual establishments to determine local practice. The following establishments report that they continue to operate VIR.
