HL Deb 23 January 1992 vol 534 c31WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the NATO allies have adopted any common guidelines concerning the sale to east European states and to ex-Soviet states of weapons and/or military equipment, whether new or secondhand.

The Earl of Caithness

All NATO allies except Iceland are members of the Co-ordinating Committee for Strategic Multilateral Export control (COCOM), and are continuing to abide by its provisions on the export of military equipment to former members of the Warsaw Pact and the successor states of the former Soviet Union.
