HL Deb 21 January 1992 vol 534 cc21-2WA
Lord Fanshawe of Richmond

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will cancel the Bank Holiday on the 4th May this year and replace it with an alternative date in the autumn, such as Trafalgar Day, in view of the collapse of communism and socialism in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.

The Government have no plans to change the present arrangement.
